Red: The Last of the Flock

 Red, our most huggable hen, died just a few weeks after La Rubia.  

She spent one of her last days, posing for BNS water colorists.

La Rubia: 2016 - 2026

Sad to announce La Rubia's death last week.   Our blonde hen died of old age.   We will miss her beautiful blue eggs and "spicy" behavior.  Unlike her sister hens, she was not too fond of being petted.

Bundle Dyeing How-To's

 

Shopping for natural dye materials.

Place materials on pre-treated cotton fabric.

Lots of artistic choices to make.

Fold and bundle.  Place in steamer for 30 minutes or so.

Rinse and shake off natural materials into the meadow!
