October Beach Clean-up

The 17th Annual BNS Plumb Beach Clean-up

And despite the grown-ups, this blogger included, who tell them to give up....

They successfully remove it.
Nearly 400 pounds of recyclables and trash were collected for the DOS to remove!

Fifth Graders Raised Monarchs in Class and Released Them in BNS pollinator beds...

                                                             And surprisingly enough...

They were still hanging around a few days later...fittingly, on the green roof of the Bug Hotel.

Bags from Stumptown in Red Hook Turned into Planters

Thanks to Stumptown Coffee for the burlap coffee bean bags that  BNS first graders turned  into planter bags.  Now our urban chain-link fences are "country"  green.  BTW, we are hoping to sew more planter bags at Apple Fest 2013.  Hope to see you there.  Johanna
