BNS BCS Collaboration

Social Justice Educator, Penina, and her BNS 2nd graders  created individual  pickets with messages about the importance of trees.  Sustainability Coordinator, Johanna, and her BCS 12th grade interns  put them together to make a tree guard.

The results:

One more tree safe from trampled roots.

One  more project strengthening the ties between our two schools.

Third Grade Cooks and Dines on Red Red

Can't imagine a better way to celebrate PBA completion (and reviewing plant parts) then preparing and feasting on a West African stew of black-eyed peas (cowpeas) with yucca and plantanos.

Thanks to Third Grade Educators Alex, Sally, Claudia, Julie, and Katherine for Photos.
And to Johanna for being the founder of the feast.

Pre-K Reflections

Tape two mirrors together to form a book. Move the mirrors together and apart.  Cool kaleidscope images  kept kids interested for a long time.  Setting the foundation for symmetry, art, light...STEAM.
