District 15 Science Fair

COMMUNITY EDUCATION COUNCIL DISTRICT 15 held a district wide science fair at PS 130.  It was great to see our fourth and fifth grade students teach others about what they are learning in class.  No better way to deepen your understanding.  With confidence, poise, and passion  our students taught participants about what they learned in first, fourth and fifth grades.  (And it was great to see a number of our former BNS students there as well.)

Worm composting--a first grade study.

Wondrous Worms! Mom thrilled that her active children stayed put.

Mark Bisard, CEC 15 Member and BNS parent

Johanna knows the power of worms on kids.

A fourth grade study:  Storm water runoff problems and solutions.

Where does our waste water go? Lift the flap to find out.

Sponges stand for solutions such as green roofs.

This paint tray sponge model is based on a CUSP activity.

Waiting for visitors to teach. Milo eventually got a chair.

Programming Lego Robots--a 5th grade study.

Why the boots?  Barbara, Ed, and Johanna all were at the shore with two kindergarten classes that morning. What an amazing day!

Wait...That visitor looks familiar...

It's SHIRLEY!  BNS Math Coach!
