Survival Monkey Teaches 2nd Graders About Shelters

Second graders experimented with newspaper structures.  They worked to build a structure that could stand up even with a student inside!  Then Nancye Good, sustainability educator working part-time at BNS, demonstrated with a stuffed animal how to build a shelter with twigs and leaves.   The secret behind both types of structures?  The Triangle.
Thanks Stefania and Nancye for the pictures!

I fit!
Another stable structure.
Triangles are strong!
Engineering is exhausting!
I agree!
